Introduction

The Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is a nature reserve located near Kranji. It is the first wetlands reserve to be gazetted in Singapore in the year 2002, and its importance of being a stop-over point for migratory birds was also recognised. The reserve was listed as an ASEAN Heritage Park in 2003. In 2001, OUR school adopted SBWR. Some of the programmes we are innvolved in are: costal clean-up, mural painting and nature guiding by the GREEN CLUB. The Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve had welcomed many visitors from both local AND overseas. It had become a favourite place of heartlanders to have a day of relaxation and calming nature! :)
This mural above is made up of drawings all hand-painted by our seniors! Each of these colourful tiles are hand-painted by students of Commonwealth Secondary School. They depict the message that the "artists" wanted to convey: to love the mangroves and let the wetlands thrive!
Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is the habitat for many unique and different animals and plants, such as the mud-skippers, vinegar crabs and mangroves.
